1“Feminism has Come”

In the late 1990s, feminist movement takes roots in Georgia. Women actively engage in political and business activity… The film “Feminism Has come” describes how this process started in Georgia. 

2“Journalist”

The film relates to a young journalist woman, who carries out activities in the sphere of political journalism. She believes her profession is the best way of self-expression.

3“The Fencer”

The main character of the film is a little girl mastering in fencing. However, this sports category is not quite suitable for a girl, and she has to overcome the difficulties.

4“A Seven-Minute Zone”

In the vicinity of the village Daba, Tsalenjikha province of Western Georgia, there is the biggest electric power station in the Caucasus, which from the very first day of functioning poses ecological hazard to the environment. In case of its possible damage the entire neighborhood will be threatened with ecocatastrophe – it may be that the whole region will be razed to the ground in seven minutes. The film is about an ecologist woman, who, despite economic grievances, desperately struggles for ecologic safety of the region.  

5“Behind Bars”

The film is about the women in jail. They speak about their fates, the mistakes they have committed, about their future lives…

6“The Caucasian House” (Part 1)

The film is an attempt to tell about the diverse activity carried out by the Caucasian House from the very first day of its existence.

7“The Country Doctor”

The main personage of the film is a woman doctor, who, regardless of almost insufferable living conditions, spares no effort to help the neighbors who got into trouble and to save the lives of her fellow-villagers at the cost of her health.

8“The Photograph Album”

The hero of the film is a respectable woman, who, having had a hard life, gave up her personal happiness in favor of her dear one and devoted herself entirely to the public work.  She is the first Georgian lady-parachutist, now the president of the Society for Wildlife Protection and an instructor of chess. 

9“My Horse is Part of My World”

The film shows an episode a sportswoman’s life. She is a  horse-woman and, to say in her words, horse is part of her world.

10“The Natives of the Gorge”

The film describes the hard life of the people living in the Kodori gorge, where the only vehicle for communication with the outer world is helicopter.  The scene of action is on board of the helicopter, the passengers of which, mostly women and children, speak about the hardships they have to undergo. 


11“The Way Out, i.e. I Observe the Tradition”

The film relates to the conflict of young generation with their parents and traditional family culture. They seek the way out…


12“Children of War”

Following the recommence of the Russian-Chechen war, a steady stream of refugees poured into the territory of Georgia and settled in the Pankisi gorge. Hard lot befell the entire Chechen nation, but the little ones were affected most of all. The authors of the film dwell on a sore subject - the emotional experience of the Chechen children and their desperate condition in Pankisi gorge.       


13“Prayer for Survival of the Caucasus”         

Against the background of religious and ethnic extremism that has recently been observed in Georgia, such subject matters as tolerance in society, peaceful coexistence of the Caucasian nations, making peace in the region are of great importance to us.

The film shows how the representatives of different ethnic nationalities and religions pray for peace in the Caucasus.   
14“To Start Life Afresh”           

The film is about a woman, who, having got married, settled in the country. At first, it was not easy to live in the countryside for her, as she had been grown up in the city. She even abandoned her home for a certain time. At the end, she returned home – She decided to run the household in the country and help her children who lived in the city.


15“The Female Voters”           

Women’s activity in politics and social life has become more evident for the past years. The characters of the film, women electors, put thorny questions concerning the acute problems and require of the male politicians presenting absolute majority at all levels of the authorities to answer these questions.

 

16“The Teenagers”

The heroes of the film aged 14 – 15 tell us about their attitude to the outer world, they speak about the problems they come across regarding girls, about a generation gap, etc.

 

17“A Soldier”       

Formerly in Georgia it was inconceivable that a woman could serve in the army. The new reality has shattered the old stereotype ideas. The increasing unemployment in the country is also a circumstance to be taken into consideration. Under such conditions, many women find themselves at such works that they could not have dreamt of before.   

 

18“The Businesswomen”                      

The civil war and ethnic conflicts have completely ruined Georgia’s economics. Under such conditions, it is very difficult to go into serious business, and it is especially difficult in a corrupt and undemocratic country.

19“Roads and Road-side Traders”

The film was shot at the localities inhabited by the Azerbaijanians and at the toad-side markets, where the Azerbaijanians, mainly women, sell vegetables and fruit. The film showing their daily cares and amusements is a good ethnographic sketch.

20„Manana“

The film is about an old woman who leads a lonely life in the country. She refuses to reconcile herself with her fate , she has not lost heart and continues to work hard to support herself...

 

21“The Frank Answers“Woman and man”, “woman and family”, “woman and society” – these are the widespread notions, which require to be explained. The women in the film, mostly the young ones, are trying to provide the answers.  
22“Women of Pankisi”

The Pankisi gorge of Eastern Georgia is mainly inhabited by the Qists, the people of Chechen ethnicity. They migrated to Georgia as far back as the 19th century. Since then they have acquired many customs and habits of the Georgian people, however, the ancient conservative traditions of the mountaineers hamper the openness of their society. The film shows the standing of a woman in this society.

23“Dariko of Ibei”

The film is about a true story of Dariko, a Qist woman. She tells about her life, about the fate of a woman in the closed conservative society. 
24“Abkhazia – Ten Years Later”           

The Georgian-Abkhazian war, as well as the Georgian-Ossetian war, is one of the most tragic and disgraceful pages in Georgia’s political history. These wars have burnt down the bridge between the two close nations and ruined the lives of many people. 
The film “Abkhazia – Ten Years Later” is an attempt to show how the Abkhaz live today, what they think about the conflict and how they see the resolution to the conflict.  


25“People Deprived of the Fatherland”

In November of 1944, upon authorization of the Supreme power of the Soviet Union, tens of thousands of Moslem Meskhetians, together with the other Caucasian peoples – Karachais, Balkarians, Chechens and Ingush, were deported to the deserted steppes of Central Asia.  The operation was carried out in one night. After Stalin’s death, in the period of so-called “thaw”, these peoples were given the right to return to their native lands except for the Moslem Meskhetians deported from Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia. The film is a feeble attempt to throw light on this sore question.  


26“The Caucasian House” (Part II)
The film describes activities of the Caucasian House in 2006.
27“Thirteen Years in Exile”The film is about the internally displaced people from Abkhazia. The authors deal with the difficulties and problems of these people. The refugees are speaking about their life before and after the war; they express their opinion about the reasons of the discord and the ways of peaceful resolution to the conflict.
28"Our Village"

 The film describes everyday life and worries of the residents of one of the biggest villages in Kakheti, Nukriani. The film will also acquaint audiences with those projects, which Caucasian House implements there with support of its friends -Foundations.

29"Our Dagestanis"

 The film describes everyday life and problems of the Dagestani people living in Kvareli region of Kakheti. It informs the audiences about Georgia-Dagestani relations and trends of integration of the Dagestani people into Georgian society.
